From 29 September to 16 October, the Sunshine Coast rallied together for a cause that touched hearts across our community — New Undies, New Start.
Key points:
- Thanks to your incredible kindness, over 1,000 pairs of new women’s underwear have donated
- Hope House serves women in crisis across the Sunshine Coast.
- Hope House Espresso is more than just an amazing cafe: every cup served helps women in crisis, with 100 per cent of profits supporting Hope House.
- Thank you, Sunshine Coast, for showing once again what community is all about!
In partnership with Hope House, Salt 106.5 invited locals to donate brand-new women’s underwear to support women fleeing domestic violence. And once again, Salt family, your generosity has amazed us.
Thanks to your incredible kindness, over 1,000 pairs of new women’s underwear have been donated, helping to bring dignity and hope to women who often have to leave unsafe situations with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
A little about Hope House
As a registered not-for-profit charity, Hope House serves women in crisis across the Sunshine Coast, whether they need emergency accommodation, counselling, job training, budgeting courses, parenting programs, or ongoing support.
The charity works with more than 40 partner organisations to ensure women don’t have to walk the journey alone.

A morning of hope and community
On Wednesday 16 October, the Salt 106.5 team broadcasted live from Hope House Espresso in Alexandra Headland for the official handover event.
It was a beautiful morning celebrating compassion in action, and the power of a community united for good.
We were honoured to have Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli join us to show her support and share in the moment.
Angela Williams and Dave Matthews from HumanKind joined Nato on air to chat about the importance of kindness and how their work continues to inspire others to take small steps that make a big impact.
A special thank you also goes to our incredible drop-off partners, Meridan Community Church & Centre (Meridan Plains) and Noosa Church (Noosaville), for their support throughout this important campaign.

A message from the Salt 106.5 team
“We are constantly overwhelmed by the generosity, compassion and kindness from the Sunshine Coast,” said Elisha, Station Manager at Salt 106.5.
“Every donation, every prayer, and every act of kindness makes a difference.
“Thank you for helping bring hope and dignity to women who need it most.”
