Listen: The five-day event will kick off around mid-morning, with games running through the afternoon, depending on weather conditions.
As the highest level of beach volleyball in the state, Cr Terry says he’s really pleased that the ‘QLD Open’ event is being held on the Sunshine Coast. “It’s a great spectator sport,” he says. “Obviously with Caloundra being known as the city of beaches, this type of event fits in perfectly with our events catalogue.”
With world champions and olympians arriving on the Sunshine Coast ready to compete, it’s a fantastic opportunity for locals to watch the games and soak up the atmosphere.
“There will be some amazing talent on show,” Cr Terry says. “And with the 2032 Olympics coming on the Sunshine Coast, it’s an amazing opportunity for the public to watch.”
The five-day event will kick off around mid-morning each day from January 19th, with games running through the afternoon, depending on weather conditions.
“There’s a lot happening down here on the Sunshine Coast and who wouldn’t want to be here in Happy Valley on the weekend?” Cr Terry says.
