Andrew joins Long Lunch with Steve D to celebrate his latest release “You Are My Rock”, and chat about embarking on his own country solo career, showcasing his versatility as a songwriter, exploring stories of the heartland of Australia and America.
His self-titled solo album spawned several high rotation radio hits, including “Come Midnight”, “Good Momma Bad” and “Run Baby Run”. During the COVID-lockdowns he has been producing albums for other artists, including an album for North-East Arnhem land songwriter Yirrmal.
Andrew’s latest single “You Are My Rock” is taken from his self-titled debut album, ANDREW FARRISS. The video clip for the new single was shot in Farriss’ native Australian outback, “You Are My Rock” is a “thank you” of sorts to the many friends, family, fans, and industry leaders who have supported his music and provided opportunities throughout his illustrious four-decade career.
Over the past 10 years, Andrew has spent time writing in Australia and in Nashville, both for his own solo projects and for other performers. Living and working on the land near Tamworth for the past three decades, and as a songwriter, Andrew has a natural affinity with country music, something that is evident with his solo music.
Andrew and his wife Marlina live and work on abroad acre farm in the Tamworth area, that he has owned for close to three decades. Andrew has three grown children, Grace, Josephine, and Matthew.
